Why You Should Collaborate With Black Women Now - by Sadie Pegues-Hall
The world has always viewed black women through some form of imitation, but now it seems as if the curtain has been thrown back, and we are actually being seen as ourselves and appreciated for just that. In no uncertain terms, black women are trending and could open up a new world for your market.
Often Imitated, Never Duplicated
Black women have been some of the most imitated beings on this planet. Whether it be style, our verbiage but mainly our physical appearance. Just ask the Kardashians. They have built a billion dollar empire based on the influence of black women. Our lips, their so called boxer braids (which have been cornrows all of our lives), to our curviest features. Basically, if you really want to know what the best next thing is, simply ask a black woman. We are influential and make everything more desirable, and that is a huge tool from a marketing standpoint.
We Move With Intention
Everything we do business wise is with a purpose. Black women are no strangers to going above and beyond to achieve anything, because we’ve always had to be the best at all that we do simply to be acknowledged, which is why no efforts are wasted. If you are looking for hardworking partners, that continue to persevere, then black women are should most certainly be on your radar.
The Most Disrespected, Yet We Keep Coming
Society has always treated women in the business world, with less regard than men. Now you take black men who are less regarded than white men, now black women less than the black man, now imagine still being able to stand tall, head held high and knock down barriers. We are still out here starting businesses, taking our seats in boardrooms and leading movements to force changes in our government. Thank you again Stacey Abrams. Again, we are leaders and are influential.
When We’ve Got Your Back, We’ve Got You
We have been raised knowing that it takes a village, but we take that mentality steps further and in a slightly different direction in the business world. We support one another, and nurture our small goals collectively, to get to the end goal as a unit. Black women are loyal to those who stand with us because there have been times when many did not. When working with another business or partner, we are going to make the necessary moves to ensure that all involved achieve their objectives.
Basically
Partnering with a black woman on an endeavor, is most certainly a win, win. We are not afraid of the “no’s”. We walk right through them. Black women do everything with style so whatever it is, it will surely be all over your social media feed soon. We reward those who work with us by lending our unique perspective. Now the question you should ask yourself is, why not take a chance on collaborating with the very beings who have always been the most emulated and now have the attention of the entire world?
